Platform Floor Scales
Our range of 4 load cell platform scales are easy to install and set up. The scales are supplied with high quality feet that are height adjustable for uneven floors.
There are several different models to choose from below. All the models you see below are manufactured in the UK using stainless steel load cells for extra reliability. The manufacturing department is run by MWS Ltd, Scalesmart's parent company. All designs and fabrications are covered under the ISO9001:2015 accreditation.

There are important factors to consider when buying platform scales, the temptation to buy cheap scales is often there, however there are reasons to think about spending a bit more to protect your investment for years to come.
Load Cells
Often overlooked but one of the most important components in floor scales tends to be 4 load cells, these are bolted into the corners of the scales tend to be the weakest link for any platform scale, the most common fault with floor scales is load cell failure due to damage from shock loads and overloading. When this happens it is time to fit new load cells, in cheaper platforms found on places like eBay thesse loadcells are ofetn unmarked and hard to source, this pretty much renders your floor scale useless.
In our floor scales we use load cells from a manufacturer called Flintec, all of our platforms are identified and we log the load cell type and serial numbers, each load cell is also individually marked, finding replaements for Flintec load cells is exceptionally easy, you can conact us to start with or Flintec directly who have a warehouse in Cardiff.
When load cells are replaced you must always have the scales recalibrated, it is not possible to swap load cells and maintain the accuracy, this is due to each load cell having unique electrical characteristics that can only be taken into account when a calibration process is carried out.
Structure
Another reason to choose a platform scale from Scalesmart is the steel used is UK sourced, can be supplied with steel mill certificates and usually of thicker material. The thicker the material used the more rigid the scale structure is, rigidity is required to ensure the load cells are not stressed in directions they do not want to go in, a strong rigid structure also ensures that the scale will stand teh test of time.

Another good reason to buy one of our platform scales is you are supporting proper British manufacturing. Too many imports are brought into this country each year, to put into context it costs us more to buy the parts and make a floor scale than you can buy an imported model for.
